ARMY OPEN SOLICITATION (AOS)

The Army Open Solicitation (AOS) is a perpetual, government‑wide open solicitation that enables the U.S. Army to acquire commercial, innovative solutions across all mission areas. Vendors may submit an unsolicited Active Capability Gap (ACG) brief, potentially followed by a live pitch and a full solution proposal, or respond to future Calls for Solutions posted on SAM.gov. The solicitation leverages multiple legal authorities (CSO, BAA, Other Transactions) and is managed by the U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground. No specific funding ceiling or submission deadline is provided; awards are subject to appropriations and can range from prototype work to full production. • Open‑ended solicitation – remains active until the Army cancels it; individual solution opportunities will have their own timelines. • Enables rapid acquisition of commercial technologies, research, development, and prototype projects across 15 Army Example Areas (e.g., intelligence, soldier equipment, logistics, cyber, etc.). • Submission process: mandatory Solution Brief (≤5 pages or 15 slides), optional Live Pitch, and full Solution Proposal if invited. • Awards may be made via Commercial Solutions Opening, Broad Agency Announcement, or Other Transaction mechanisms, with a maximum performance period of 24 months.
