Description

The City of Merriam seeks a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive traffic signal maintenance and repair services for its municipal signal inventory (17 standard signals and 4 HAWK signals). The contractor must perform both planned preventive work—such as equipment replacement, conflict monitor testing, and installation of flashing yellow arrows—and emergency response activities, including full outages, flash‑mode resets, and replacement of damaged components. All personnel must be IMSA Level 2/3 certified, and the contractor must guarantee a two‑hour emergency response window with a 24/7 on‑call telephone line. • Perform routine preventive maintenance and component replacements on 21 city traffic signals. • Provide emergency repairs within two hours of notification, covering outages, flash‑mode issues, and damaged equipment. • Staff the effort with IMSA‑certified Level 2/3 technicians and maintain a 24‑hour on‑call contact number.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $500,000

Based on typical municipal traffic‑signal maintenance contracts for a city of Merriam’s size, annual spend usually ranges from $150,000 to $500,000 depending on scope, frequency of emergencies, and labor rates. The lower end assumes minimal emergency calls and basic preventive work; the higher end accounts for frequent emergency responses, equipment upgrades (e.g., flashing yellow arrows), and IMSA‑certified staffing premiums.
