Description
The Town of Perryville is seeking a qualified attorney or law firm to provide general legal advice and review to the Mayor, Commissioners, and Town Staff. The selected Legal Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and aiding in the preparation of documents, attending regular and special sessions of Town Meetings, conducting legal research, and rendering legal opinions. The contract is expected to be ongoing, with the successful bidder providing services on a monthly basis. The Town is looking for a firm with extensive experience in governmental, land use law, and zoning matters in the State of Maryland. Some key responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and drafting documents, including contracts, deeds, and legislation
• Attending Town Meetings and other meetings as requested
• Conducting legal research and rendering legal opinions
• Assisting the Town in the conduct of meetings and hearings
• Advising the Town on Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act matters
• Representing the Town in litigation and administration hearings
The proposal should include an executive summary, a description of the firm's experience, a writing sample, and a detailed explanation of the method of charging for professional and administrative services.
