Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to procure a Phantom High-Speed Camera System for melt pool imaging in the Additive Manufacturing Metrology Testbed (AMMT) 2.0 dual-laser system. The camera must meet specific minimum requirements, including a CMOS sensor type, monochrome color, and a global shutter. The system will be used to capture melt pool dynamics during the laser-material interaction, providing critical information for understanding the additive manufacturing process. • The camera must have a combination of speed, resolution, sensitivity, and controllability. • The camera must meet specific minimum specifications, including sensor type, color, pixel pitch, bit depth, resolution, sensitivity, shutter, and minimum shutter speed. • The camera must be able to transfer data via CoaxPress or 10 Gb ethernet and have onboard memory of at least 72 GB. • The camera must have a c-mount adapter and be able to fit within laboratory space constraints at NIST.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $50,000 to $200,000, considering the cost of a high-speed camera system and the fact that it is a sole-source procurement. The actual budget may vary depending on the vendor's quote and the government's budget for the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the camera's specifications, the vendor's pricing, and the government's negotiation tactics.
