Unified Development Code (UDC) Update

The City of Buda is seeking a consulting team to lead a comprehensive update of the City's Unified Development Code (UDC). The update aims to align the UDC with the City's recently adopted Comprehensive Plan, Downtown Master Plan, Trails Master Plan, and other key planning documents. The selected consultant will work with City staff, stakeholders, and the community to ensure the UDC update supports the City's long-term vision for growth, high-quality development, and managed growth. Key services include a thorough analysis of the current code, targeted updates, public and stakeholder engagement, legal and policy review, and strategies for effective adoption and implementation. • The UDC update should streamline development processes, reduce the number of required board and committee appearances, and provide staff with greater flexibility in administration. • The updated code should align with the City's strategic goal of achieving balanced and intentional growth, supporting local businesses, and promoting sustainable development. • The consultant will facilitate transparent communication, provide clear deliverables, and engage with the public and stakeholders throughout the process.
