The US Army is seeking a contractor to provide storage, transportation, and composting of sewage sludge accumulated at the Fort Detrick Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The WWTP accumulates sewage sludge as part of the sanitary treatment activities, and the contractor will be responsible for handling the increased sewage sludge volume accumulation and disposal resulting from the upgraded treatment processes at the new Enhanced Nutrient Removal (ENR) WWTP.
• The contractor will need to provide their own testing of the material, as the sludge is neither Class A nor Class B.
• The liquid sludge is dewatered via a centrifugal process, providing at least 15% solids.
• The contractor will need to obtain the necessary permits and approvals for the transportation and composting of the sewage sludge.
• The current contract number is W91QV121C0002, and this is a recompete.
