Description
The New Buffalo Area Schools is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the existing shingle roof at the HS/MS building. The project includes removal of existing roofing materials and installation of a new roofing system. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the project. The scope of work includes shingle roof replacement, installation of ice and water shield, and installation of synthetic underlayment. The contractor must also provide a 40-year material warranty and a 15-year wind warranty.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Removal of one layer of existing shingles
• Installation of new drip edge and ridge cap
• Reuse of existing step flashing, headwall flashing, and counter flashing where feasible
• Installation of new architectural shingles
• No deck replacement included in base scope
• No changes to existing ventilation system
The contractor must also demonstrate experience with commercial roofing projects, proper licensing to perform roofing work in Michigan, and ability to meet safety standards in an occupied school environment.
