Demolition of Three Residential Structures

The City of Newport News is seeking quotes from qualified firms to provide demolition services for three residential structures located at 830 29th Street, 1023 25th Street, and 2405 Roanoke Ave. The contractor will be responsible for removal and legal disposal of all asbestos-containing material, personal property, and debris, as well as clearing, grading, and seeding of the areas disturbed. The project has a timeline of 15 business days to complete each demolition, and the city reserves the right to require a performance bond and labor and materials payment bond. • The city is seeking a fixed-price quote for the demolition services. • The contractor must have the capability to fully perform the services and have the experience necessary to assure good faith performance of the contract. • The city reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and make all evaluations. • The city also reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, to award whole or in part, and to waive informalities prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed to be in its best interest.
