Description
The City of Detroit is seeking competitive quotes from licensed and qualified electrical contractors to provide design/build services for the installation of a new diesel generator and automatic transfer switch (ATS) at the Silver Bullet Pump Station. The scope of work includes design and installation of a new diesel generator system and ATS, construction of new concrete slabs, excavation and installation of underground electrical conduit, provision of all conduits, conductors, fittings, and accessories required for complete and functional power and control circuits, coordination of all required underground utility locates, provision of erosion and sediment control measures, supervision and performance of startup and testing of the generator and ATS, obtaining all necessary electrical permits, and provision of training for City staff on operation and maintenance of the generator and ATS.
• The contractor must be familiar with the electrical demand of the site and obtain demand information through a site visit.
• The contractor must have experience with installing permanent standby generators for water or wastewater systems.
• The contractor must provide at least three references for municipal generator installations.
• The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations applicable to the contract.
• The contractor must provide proof of required insurance, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation insurance.
• The contractor must execute a performance bond in the amount of the contract price.
The City reserves the right to award the full scope of work, a reduced scope, or any portion of the project that is deemed to be in the City's best interest. The City may also reject any or all proposals if they exceed available funding or otherwise fail to meet the City's needs.
