Description
The CDC, on behalf of NIOSH, is issuing a sole‑source RFQ for a firm‑fixed‑price contract to drill a vertical borehole (≈1,700 ft deep) on the Buchanan mine property in Raven, Virginia. The work includes site preparation, drilling, casing, grouting, and full site reclamation, with an optional geophysical down‑hole sensing service. Only two pre‑qualified drilling firms (Pinkerton Drilling and Coronado Coal Global Resources) may submit quotes; one will be selected based on technical acceptability and price reasonableness. The period of performance is 09/01/2026‑11/16/2026.
• Scope: site visit, utility clearance, erosion control, permit acquisition, road and pad construction, 1,700‑ft vertical borehole drilling, 3.5‑in. steel casing, grout placement, surface casing extension, demobilization, and reclamation.
• Optional: provide down‑hole geophysical sensing (gamma‑ray, density).
• Deliverables: completed borehole, drilling log, any geophysical data, and a fully reclaimed site.
• Evaluation: PASS/FAIL technical review; price must be fair and reasonable.
