The City of Detroit is seeking approved demolition companies to provide demolition of blighted commercial structures. The contractor must assign a project manager, provide qualified personnel, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The contractor must also verify the assigned site, identify parcel boundaries, and document site conditions. The contractor is responsible for any damage resulting from the execution of the services and must immediately correct any hazardous condition, undue disturbance, or nuisance. The services include demolition, debris removal, transport, and disposal, as well as backfill and grading. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment and materials and ensure that all personnel possess the required qualifications and credentials. • The contractor must conduct a pre-demolition site visit to verify that all safely accessible hazardous materials were abated or removed from the site. • The contractor must identify any impediments to the performance or execution of the services and notify the owner. • The contractor must provide date- and time-stamped color photographs of any impediments to the execution of the services. • The contractor must make a reasonable and good faith effort to protect live trees that are six inches or more in diameter at four feet in height and that are located ten feet or more from any structure on the assigned site. • The contractor must clear all vegetation, brush, and other debris from the assigned site. • The contractor must properly remove, transport, and recycle or dispose of tires in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules.
