Description

The U.S. Navy (NAVSUP WSS) is seeking a qualified contractor to repair, overhaul, and upgrade a specific aircraft door (NSN 1560‑01‑705‑5739) in accordance with Boeing drawing 113A8335‑3 and applicable military standards. The contractor must provide a fixed‑price or TT&E quote, perform all required inspections, testing, and marking per MIL‑STD‑130, and ensure the repaired door is returned to a Ready‑For‑Issue (RFI) condition. All tooling, fixtures, and special equipment are the contractor’s responsibility unless otherwise furnished. The work will be performed at the contractor’s facility, with strict configuration management, quality system (ISO 9001/AS9100), and reporting requirements via the Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV) system. • Scope: Disassembly, inspection, repair/replacement of components, reassembly, testing, and final acceptance of an aircraft door. • Required compliance: MIL‑STD‑130 markings, applicable Boeing drawings, IPC/EIAJ‑STD‑001C (if MIL‑STD‑454 referenced), ISO 9001/AS9100 quality system, ANSI/NCSL‑Z540.3 calibration. • Deliverables: Fixed‑price or TT&E quote, RTAT proposal, repair procedures, test reports, configuration‑controlled documentation, and final acceptance certification. • Constraints: No government‑furnished tooling; any changes to manuals or drawings require PCO approval; BER (beyond economic repair) items excluded from price; mandatory reporting to CAV within five business days of receipt. • Location: Contractor’s facility (address not specified; Boeing Seattle WA address appears as reference).

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The solicitation does not disclose a budget. Based on typical Navy repair contracts for a single aircraft door (including labor, parts, testing, and quality compliance), a reasonable estimate ranges from low‑six figures for a simple repair to mid‑seven figures for a full overhaul with extensive component replacement. Factors influencing the final price include the condition of the door (whether it is BER), the need for custom tooling, and any required certifications. A conservative ballpark would be $100,000 to $500,000.
