TOS No. 114 - Intersections Improvement on Hyperion Avenue and Glendale Boulevard

The City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Engineering (BOE), is seeking a consultant to provide multimodal transportation improvement to alleviate the current traffic congestion through the Glendale Boulevard and Hyperion Avenue transportation corridors. The project includes improvements on four intersections along the Glendale Boulevard and Hyperion Avenue transportation corridors, including Glendale Boulevard at Glenfeliz Boulevard/Glenhurst Avenue, Hyperion Avenue at Rowena Avenue, Glendale Boulevard at Riverside Drive, and Glendale Boulevard at Rowena Avenue. The consultant will be responsible for providing geotechnical investigation, pavement design, and construction recommendations for the project. Key considerations include pavement condition, structural section, and subgrade soil, as well as traffic volume and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. • The project requires a thorough geotechnical investigation to determine the existing pavement condition and structural section. • The consultant must provide recommendations for pavement rehabilitation, reconstruction, and resurfacing. • The project involves multiple stakeholders, including the City of Los Angeles, Psomas, and other design and support services consultants. • The consultant must ensure that all materials and methods of construction conform to good engineering practices and local standards. • The project has a design life of 10 or 20 years, depending on the rehabilitation or reconstruction strategy. • The consultant must consider the traffic index, street type, and existing section when developing pavement section recommendations.
