Operation STOP Training

The City of Newport News is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive training and capacity-building services for Operation STOP, aimed at addressing the opioid crisis in Newport News, particularly within Black communities. The services include professional development, information dissemination, and wraparound support for community-based organizations. The training must include in-person cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) training, harm reduction/stigma training, Motivational Interviewing workshop, customized practical application training, Revive training, and Mental Health First Aid. The contractor shall provide a comprehensive suite of training and technical assistance services to support community violence prevention and behavioral health capacity in Newport News. • In-person cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) training • 3-hour harm reduction/stigma training • In-person 3-hour Motivational Interviewing workshop • Customized practical application training for reaching highest risk • Revive training • Mental Health First Aid The contractor shall also provide training agendas and materials, certificates of completion, attendance records, and a final report summarizing training outcomes.
