TACAN Shore Based Antenna

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is conducting market research to identify potential vendors who can provide a TACAN Shore Based Antenna system. The system must be capable of directly interfacing with the AN/URN-32 TACAN Transponder and meet specific performance requirements. The scope of work includes providing a detailed description of the company's capabilities to perform the tasks outlined in the specification and statement of work, as well as past experience with TACAN Antennas. The system must operate without modifications within the frequency band from 960 to 1215 MHz and meet various performance requirements, including electrical interface, antenna pattern, azimuth variable signal, modulation, and reference bearing signals. • The system must be compatible with AN/URN-32 and AN/URN-33(V) TACAN systems. • The antenna size, including radome, shall be less than or equal to six feet in diameter and eleven feet in height. • The total weight of the antenna structure shall be as low as practicable and less than or equal to 900 pounds. • The system must operate in various environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, and wind. • The system must meet specific requirements for electromagnetic environmental effects, including margins, intra-system electromagnetic compatibility, external RF EME, lightning, electromagnetic interference, electrostatic environments, radiation hazards, and life cycle E3 hardness.
