The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting bids for the upgrade of the fire alarm system campus-wide at the Waco location. The contractor will be responsible for providing a complete, code-compliant, and fully functional fire alarm system, including all required devices. The contract includes a five-year maintenance period, during which the contractor will be responsible for routine inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and standard service obligations. A Not-to-Exceed (NTE) allowance of $300,000 will be established for unforeseen corrective repair work during the five-year maintenance period.
• The contractor must determine required device quantities and incorporate all associated inspection, testing, and maintenance costs into their bid.
• The contract documents clearly state that device counts shown on the drawings are not exhaustive and shall not be relied upon for bidding purposes.
• The Government reserves the right to de-scope, reduce, or otherwise remove any unused balance of the repair allowance by contract modification.
