Description

The City of Waterbury’s Department of Engineering is soliciting proposals to perform a comprehensive re‑lampping of its municipal traffic signals for the 2026 calendar year. The successful proposer will be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to replace existing lamp modules with new, energy‑efficient lighting across the city’s signal network, ensuring proper installation, testing, and compliance with local standards. • Full scope includes removal of existing signal lamps, installation of new LED or equivalent lamps, wiring checks, and functional testing of each signal. • Contractor must provide all required manpower, vehicles, safety equipment, and disposal of old lamp components. • Project is city‑wide; the contractor will coordinate with the Department of Engineering to minimize traffic disruption and adhere to scheduled work windows.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

No contract value is disclosed. Based on typical municipal traffic signal re‑lampping programs of comparable size, the budget is likely in the low‑to‑mid six‑figure range up to low‑seven figures, depending on the total number of signals, lamp type (LED vs. conventional), and associated labor and equipment costs. A reasonable estimate would be between $500,000 and $2,000,000.
