The City of Flowery Branch is seeking a qualified firm or consultant to develop a Unified Development Code (UDC) that consolidates and modernizes the City's existing zoning, subdivision, and development-related ordinances into a single, user-friendly document. The UDC will align with the City's Comprehensive Plan, promote sustainable growth, and support Flowery Branch's vision as a charming, old town, forward-thinking community. The selected firm will collaborate with the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission to ensure consistency and alignment between the UDC and the Comprehensive Plan. Key services include:
• Review of existing ordinances, plans, and policies
• Analysis of community needs and growth projections
• Drafting the UDC, including text, maps, and graphics
• Conducting at least three public meetings
• Presenting drafts to the City Council
• Providing final deliverables in digital and print formats
The City is looking for a firm with experience in developing UDCs or similar land use regulations, knowledge of Georgia's planning and zoning laws, and experience with public engagement and consensus-building in small or mid-sized communities.
