Repair of Hangar Doors

The US Air Force is seeking a contractor to inspect, diagnose, and repair three MEGA Door brand vertical lift hangar doors located at the 187th Fighter Wing, Dannelly Field ANGB, Montgomery, AL. The primary issue to be addressed is the generation of metal shavings during door operation, which indicates a potential for significant mechanical failure and poses a safety risk. The scope of work includes comprehensive inspection and diagnostics, corrective maintenance and repair, and preventative maintenance and servicing. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, and expertise to perform the required services. • The contractor must conduct a thorough inspection of each door to identify the source of the metal shavings. • The contractor must provide a detailed report of findings and a recommended plan for corrective action. • The contractor must perform all necessary repairs, which may include replacement of worn or damaged components, realignment of the doors and tracks, and lubrication of all moving parts. • The contractor must perform a full preventative maintenance service on each door as recommended by the manufacturer.
