The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for the NIEHS Worker Training Program’s Hazardous Materials Worker Health and Safety Training Program. This program aims to provide support for the development of health and safety training of workers exposed to hazardous materials. The program consists of three distinct areas: Hazardous Waste Worker Training Program, Environmental Career Worker Training Program, and Hazmat Disaster Preparedness Training Program. • The program will utilize the U45 activity code to provide support for the development of health and safety training of workers exposed to hazardous materials. • The program will provide classroom, online, and practical health and safety training for workers and their supervisors. • The program is open to various types of applicants, including Native American tribal organizations, nonprofits, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, and private institutions of higher education. • The estimated funding for this program is $6,000,000, and it is expected to support 5 awards.
