Description

The Air Force Research Laboratory, Human Effectiveness Directorate (AFRL/RH) and the United States Air Force School of Medicine (USAFSAM) have issued a Multiple Authority Announcement (MAA) for the Continuing Human Enabling Enhancing Restoring and Sustaining (CHEERS) program. The CHEERS MAA is intended to provide a comprehensive strategy for AFRL/RH and USAFSAM's range of Science and Technology (S&T) requirements, allowing for progression from basic research to technology maturation and transition. The program includes three open solicitations: Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), Procurement for Experimental Purposes (ARA), and Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO). • The BAA solicitation is for research and development in areas such as aerospace and operational medicine, air and space austere environment patient transport, and air and space force health protection. • The ARA solicitation is for procurement of experimental purposes, including directed energy bioeffects modeling, simulation, and analysis. • The CSO solicitation is for commercial solutions, including warfighter interfaces and teaming, distributed teaming and communication, and human machine interactions. The CHEERS MAA is open to unrestricted entities, subject to any clarification in the text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility". The program is expected to run until September 30, 2027.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific award amount or range. However, based on the scope of the program and the fact that it is a research and development initiative, it is possible that the award amount could be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million. The actual budget will depend on the specific proposals submitted and the needs of the Air Force Research Laboratory and the United States Air Force School of Medicine.
