The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking applications for its Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for fiscal years 2024-2026. The BAA is a mechanism to encourage research, education, and outreach, innovative projects, or sponsorships that are not addressed through NOAA's competitive discretionary programs. Successful proposals will directly support NOAA Ocean Exploration priorities, including increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the education program, and developing education resources to complement virtual and hybrid education delivery.
• The BAA is open to institutions of higher education, nonprofits, commercial organizations, international or foreign organizations or governments, individuals, state, local, and Indian Tribal governments.
• Eligibility also depends on the statutory authority that permits NOAA to fund the proposed activity.
• Cost sharing is not required unless it is determined that a project can only be funded under an authority that requires matching/cost sharing funds.
• Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov, and the application package can be obtained by searching for the Notice of Funding Opportunity Number NOAA-NOS-MB-27779.
• The project description should include clear objectives and specific approaches to achieving those objectives, including methods, timelines, and expected outcomes.
• The application should also include a Data Management Plan, which should describe how the requirements for data sharing will be satisfied.
