Description
This contract awards a five‑year farm lease for approximately 2,500 acres of land within Sangchris Lake State Park, Illinois, to an agricultural operator. The lessee must provide all labor, equipment, seed, fertilizer, and insurance needed to run the farm, comply with strict environmental and pesticide restrictions, and pay annual rent (or provide an irrevocable Letter of Credit) and lease‑hold property taxes. Key reporting requirements include annual chemical, fertilizer, and seed logs, soil‑test results, and proof of tax payment by December 15 each year. The State retains the right to terminate for cause (e.g., failure to meet payment deadlines or use of prohibited chemicals) and does not allow subcontracting.
