ADAIR SALT STORAGE BUILDING OVER EXISTING L PANELS

The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a contractor to construct a salt storage building over existing L panels at the Adair Maintenance Garage. The project includes the demolition of the existing salt storage hoop building and the construction of a new wood pole building. The contract term is 115 days from the Notice to Proceed Announcement. The contractor will be paid monthly based on the value of work performed. • The project requires the construction of a salt storage building with a capacity of 1200 tons. • The building will be constructed over existing precast L panels. • The contractor will be responsible for demolishing the existing salt storage hoop building. • The contractor will be paid 95% of the value of work performed, with the remaining 5% held as retainage. • The contract includes a provision for the contractor to provide a list of items requiring inspection prior to or during installation. • The Iowa DOT will provide periodic site inspections to ensure coordination of the project.
