2011 Arterial Mill & Overlay Phase I

The 2011 Arterial Mill and Overlay Phase 1 project involves the improvement of Santa Fe Street and Old 56 Highway in Olathe, Kansas. The project includes 2” mill and overlay with superpave asphalt, miscellaneous sidewalk, spot curb and gutter, ADA ramp improvements, pavement markings, traffic detection, and signal modifications. The contract was awarded to APAC Kansas - Kansas City Division for $1,036,269.25. Key aspects of the project include: • 2” milling depth • Full depth street patch • Remove 4’ concrete sidewalk • Remove Type "B" concrete curb and gutter • Remove Type "E" concrete median curb and gutter • Install 2" modified superpave asphaltic concrete surface The project is expected to improve the condition of the roads and enhance safety for drivers and pedestrians.
