Cleaning and Painting Steel Structures - Various Locations

This contract is for the cleaning and painting of steel structures on the Maine Turnpike, specifically at the Shaker Road Underpass Bridge, Weymouth Road Underpass Bridge, and Bennett Road Underpass Bridge. The contract includes the removal of lead-based paint and the application of a three-coat NEPCOAT paint system. The contractor is required to submit a project-specific Health and Safety Plan and a Hazardous Waste Management Plan. The contract also includes provisions for traffic control and maintenance of traffic during the construction period. The main objective of this contract is to maintain the structural integrity and appearance of the steel structures on the Maine Turnpike. • The contract includes the cleaning and painting of approximately 19,350 square feet of steel at the Shaker Road Underpass Bridge. • The contract includes the cleaning and painting of approximately 7,800 square feet of steel at the Weymouth Road Underpass Bridge. • The contract includes the cleaning and painting of approximately 8,150 square feet of steel at the Bennett Road Underpass Bridge. • The contractor is required to use a three-coat NEPCOAT paint system. • The contractor is required to submit a project-specific Health and Safety Plan and a Hazardous Waste Management Plan. • The contract includes provisions for traffic control and maintenance of traffic during the construction period.
