Description
The contract awards a lump‑sum general construction effort to renovate approximately 4,000 sf of classroom space on the first floor of the Cohn Nursing Building at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. The scope includes demolition of existing finishes, re‑configuration of three classrooms into two new classrooms, installation of new partitions, finishes, doors, hardware, HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire‑alarm verification, and coordination of AV and technology rough‑ins (which are procured separately). The contractor must comply with university wage rates, provide required bonds and insurance, manage waste, and adhere to smoke‑free campus policies. The project must be substantially complete by 20 December 2024, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays.
