Idle Reduction Units

The City of Olathe is soliciting bids for the purchase and installation of 55 idle reduction units, also known as Alternative Power Units (APU), for various city vehicles. The successful vendor will be required to provide a qualified factory-authorized service representative to provide operational and technical training for equipment operators at no additional cost. The Buy America Act applies to this solicitation. • The contract includes the purchase and installation of idle reduction units for fire apparatus, street department dump trucks, and utilities trucks. • The successful vendor must provide a qualified factory-authorized service representative for training. • The Buy America Act applies to this solicitation. • The City of Olathe intends to enter into a contract with the successful vendor to buy additional units on an as-needed basis.
