Description

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking a contractor to conduct a rare plant survey for a proposed ATV trail expansion at the Iron Range Off Highway Vehicle Park. The survey should be completed by August 31st, 2026, and the final report, GIS data, and invoice should be submitted by December 31st, 2026. The contractor will be required to perform pre-field duties, attend introductory meetings, and conduct a complete and independent rare plant survey of the project site. The contractor should also provide spatial GIS data and a final summary report of any endangered, threatened, or special concern species found. • The proposed trail is approximately 1.95 miles in length. • The area to be surveyed will be on the trail corridor and 50 feet from the centerline on both sides. • The contractor should record data, submit findings, and collect any necessary samples as described on the MN DNR NHIS website. • The contractor should provide spatial GIS data to the project requesters, and all spatial data must be collected using sub-meter accurate GPS equipment. • The contractor should create a final summary report of any endangered, threatened, or special concern species found, including any new county records or unusual species observed, and photos to document the survey.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the scope of work, which includes a rare plant survey, pre-field duties, and the creation of a final summary report, the budget could be estimated to be in the range of $50,000 to $200,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the survey will require a team of experts, including a project manager, field technicians, and a report writer, and that the survey will involve a significant amount of fieldwork, data analysis, and report writing. The actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specifics of the proposal, the experience and qualifications of the contractor, and the level of complexity of the survey.
