Description
The City of San Diego is seeking a prime contractor to convert existing overhead utilities to underground utilities within Block 8R (Date Avenue) – a residential neighborhood. The work includes trenching, joint‑trench conduit installation, substructure and equipment‑pad construction, utility labeling, and full pavement restoration for utilities owned by SDG&E, Cox Communications, AT&T, Crown Castle, Wyyerd Fiber, and municipal streetlights. The contractor must hold Class A licenses A and C‑10, provide a 10 % bid bond, performance and payment bonds equal to the contract price, and self‑perform at least 50 % of the base‑bid work. The project budget is estimated at $7.22 million, with a contract duration of 292 working days. Mandatory pre‑bid meeting attendance is required.
