Description
CalSTRS is seeking a senior System Architect to guide the technical architecture of the Benefit Connect pension‑administration platform. The contractor will evaluate dependencies, produce architecture analyses, recommend design alternatives, oversee implementation, and transfer knowledge to CalSTRS staff. Work will be performed on‑site in West Sacramento (or hybrid) for up to 36 months with a possible 24‑month extension, at an estimated 175 hours per month. The role requires extensive experience in enterprise‑level system architecture, SOA, and pension/retirement systems, and the vendor must hold a current IT CMAS contract and meet rigorous security and insurance requirements.
• Minimum 12 years architectural/technical‑lead experience; 5 years pension‑system experience; 5 years SOA experience.
• On‑site/hybrid work (2‑3 days per week) at CalSTRS headquarters, West Sacramento, CA.
• Hourly‑rate based contract (rate not disclosed); evaluation emphasizes lowest hourly rate plus technical qualifications.
