Description
The 31 Contracting Squadron (CONS) is issuing a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to Smart Shooter, Inc. for the provision of Smart Shooter Smash 2000L SHSMS3020 Fire Control Systems at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The system is a weapon-mounted optic designed to enhance lethality, accuracy, and first-round hit probability for individual service rifles against static and dynamic targets. The contract is being awarded under RFO Part 12.102(a) – Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services.
• The system calculates a fire control solution, preventing round discharge until a high probability of impact is assured.
• It can acquire and lock onto ground-level and aerial targets.
• It includes a dedicated operational mode for effectively engaging and neutralizing Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
• It is fully operational during both day and nighttime conditions.
