RFQ - Sunflower Road Shared-Use Path Missing Link Professional Engineering Services

The City of De Soto is seeking a qualified civil‑engineering firm to provide professional engineering, project‑management, and owner’s‑representative services for the “Sunflower Road Shared‑Use Path Missing Link” project – a 0.5‑mile, 10‑ft‑wide asphalt path segment. The consultant will start with existing design documents, advance the design through Kansas DOT (KDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program approvals, manage the bidding/letting process, and oversee construction to ensure timely delivery. • Review and update existing design drawings to meet KDOT standards and obtain final design approval. • Provide comprehensive project‑management services, including schedule coordination, cost control, and stakeholder liaison (City, KDOT, contractors). • Act as the owner’s representative during construction, performing site inspections, reviewing contractor submittals, and ensuring compliance with specifications. • Deliver all required reports, drawings, and close‑out documents for the 2‑year construction schedule ending October 31, 2028. • Support the City in navigating federal funding requirements and any related regulatory compliance.
