Square Top 345 kV Transmission Line Steel Structures

The City of Garland is seeking bids for the fabrication and delivery of tubular steel transmission line structures for the Square Top 345 kV transmission line project. The structures must be designed and fabricated in accordance with the specifications and standards outlined in the contract documents, including ASCE/SEI 48 and ASTM A6. The supplier must provide detailed drawings, calculations, and test reports to demonstrate compliance with the requirements. The project includes the fabrication of pole sections, arms, and base plates, as well as the application of a hot-dip galvanized coating. The supplier must also provide field services to correct any errors or discrepancies in the structures furnished. • The structures must be designed to withstand the loads indicated on the contract drawings. • The supplier must provide a galvanized coating that is continuous, adherent, and free of uncoated spots, blisters, chemical flux, and projections. • The supplier must perform ultrasonic inspections of all complete penetration welds and provide certified test reports. • The supplier must provide a detailed inspection and test plan, including the frequency and type of testing. • The supplier must provide a corrosion-resistant coating, applied evenly from the top of the corrosion collar to the base of the pole.
