Furnish and Delivery of Three (3) 66,000 LB GVWR Truck Cab and Chassis with 28 Cubic Yard Capacity, Side Loading Automated Refuse Body

The County of Maui is seeking bids for the furnishing and delivery of three (3) 66,000 LB GVWR truck cab and chassis with 28 cubic yard capacity, side loading automated refuse body. The contractor shall provide a new, current production model, similar in size, capability, capacity, and general quality to the AutoCar ACX64R or Peterbilt 520. The vehicle shall have a low-cab forward design, fully welded and stamped two-sided galvanized steel construction, and a power-operated cab lift mechanism. The contractor shall also provide a manufacturer's warranty, training, and manuals. The contract shall be awarded to the responsible and responsive bidder submitting the lowest total net purchase price. • The vehicle shall have a diesel-powered, turbo-charged, Tier IV Compliant engine, with a minimum of 430 H.P. and 1450 ft. lbs. torque. • The vehicle shall have an Allison Automatic 4500 RDS or equal transmission, with a 6-speed forward and PTO. • The vehicle shall have a factory-installed transmission cooler and filter. • The vehicle shall have a minimum of 120,000 PSI tensile strength frame, with a 4,220,000 RBM main frame area and 3,470,000 RBM rear frame area. • The vehicle shall have a Meritor MFS-20 or equal front axle, with a 20,000 lbs. capacity, and a Meritor RT46-160P or equal rear axle, with a 46,000 lbs. capacity. • The vehicle shall have a hydraulic system, with a continuous operating engine or PTO-driven system, and a hydraulic reservoir with adequate capacity. • The vehicle shall have a packing mechanism, with a capacity of at least 28 cubic yards, and a hopper access with grab handles. • The vehicle shall have a mechanical lifting device, with a minimum reach of 96 inches outward from the side of the body, and a lifting capacity of at least 10,000 lbs. • The vehicle shall have a rust inhibitor, with the cab and body undercoated at the manufacturer's facility. • The vehicle shall have a painting, with a shot blast or chemically washed and primed refuse truck body, and a finish coat with a compatible paint.
