Description

The City of Cincinnati is seeking qualified contractors to provide barricading services for vacant commercial buildings throughout the city. The work includes the supply, installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary barricades to secure empty structures, ensuring public safety and compliance with local ordinances. Bidders must submit all required documentation, including a completed Excel pricing sheet (Volume 3) and the required submission checklist (Volume 4), through the City’s VSS online procurement portal. No early‑payment discounts are permitted, and bids may be edited or withdrawn up until the closing date. • Install, maintain, and remove temporary barricades at multiple empty commercial sites identified by the City. • Provide all materials, labor, and disposal services required for the barricade lifecycle. • Submit a completed Volume 3 Excel bid sheet with detailed pricing for each line item. • Complete the Volume 4 Required Submission Checklist and attach all required forms. • Use the VSS portal (https://vss.cincinnati-oh.gov/vssprod/Advantage4) as a Primary/Master VSS user to submit the bid. • Bids can be edited or withdrawn any time before the bid closing date. • No discounts for early payment will be considered.

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $150,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Based on comparable municipal barricading contracts for a mid‑size city, the total award could range from a few tens of thousands for a limited number of sites to well over a hundred thousand if the scope covers dozens of buildings citywide. Factors influencing the budget include the number of buildings, length of the contract (seasonal vs. year‑round), material costs, labor rates, and any required insurance or bonding. A reasonable estimate is between $20,000 for a small pilot effort and $150,000 for a comprehensive citywide program.
