Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking proposals for the Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) and Advanced Air Mobility Aircraft Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). The program aims to accelerate the safe commercialization of eVTOL and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies. The focus areas include air taxis, regional air mobility, cargo, logistics and supply, and automation safety. Proposals must include the use of eVTOL aircraft or other AAM aircraft and technologies developed or offered by a U.S.-based entity. The program will evaluate proposals based on criteria such as U.S.-based aircraft and technology, type certification project, and economic benefits. Some key points to consider: * The program is open to State, local, tribal, or territorial governments that can partner with private sector organizations. * Proposals must be submitted electronically through the eIPP Portal by December 11, 2025. * The FAA will award at least five Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) to the selected proposals. * The program duration is expected to be approximately 3 years. * The FAA will provide oversight and direction for the eIPP program. * The program will focus on achieving ambitious national objectives in core areas that are in the public interest.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated, but it is mentioned that there are no FAA funds available for this effort. The opportunity is an unfunded Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). However, considering the scope and complexity of the project, the budget could be substantial. The FAA is looking for proposals that can deliver successful outcomes, and the selected proposals will be awarded OTAs. The budget could be in the range of $1 million to $10 million, depending on the scope and complexity of the project. This is a rough estimate and should be taken as a ballpark figure.
