Trolley Infrastructure Wire

The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is seeking a wire vendor to provide grooved trolley wire, feeder cable, steel-stranded cable, and insulated and uninsulated cable for its electrical trolley system. The contract will be for 36 months, with a minimum and maximum annual quantity of wire to be delivered. The vendor must provide a comprehensive specification sheet for the proposed wire system and demonstrate that the integration of the proposed system will not negatively impact existing systems, infrastructure, safety, performance, or operational reliability. • The contract requires the vendor to provide wire that meets specific technical specifications, including ASTM B9 specifications for grooved trolley wire. • The vendor must also provide a bid alternate for a 2kV 1000 MCM feeder cable with an integrated traceable identification system. • The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with consideration given to price, experience, responsibility, and responsiveness to the specifications. • The vendor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements and the Buy America Act.
