GOSWIFT Test Pod

The objective of the Geometry Optimization and Sensing with Integration and Flight (GOSWIFT) effort is to design, manufacture, and deliver an aerodynamic test pod that maintains the Outer Mold Line (OML) of a standard centerline 610-gallon external fuel tank used on an F-15D aircraft. The pod will support aerodynamic and flight test activities while providing internal volume for instrumentation and test equipment. The scope of work includes designing and manufacturing the test pod, as well as providing a ground handling cart and performing verification and validation activities. Key features of the test pod include maintaining the OML geometry of the standard centerline 610-gallon external fuel tank, providing internal volume for instrumentation and test equipment, and supporting aerodynamic and flight test activities. The scope of work also includes providing a ground handling cart that can hold the test article, allow for uninhibited access to three center bays, and lift the test article 10 inches in the vertical direction for upload to the aircraft.
