Urgent Beach Nourishment Cape May Inlet to Lower Township Cape May, Cape May County, NJ

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to release a solicitation for the urgent beach nourishment of Cape May Inlet to Lower Township Cape May, Cape May County, NJ. The project involves pumping and placing approximately 364,000 cubic yards of sand from a borrow area onto the beach at two locations. The contract work will include pre-placement condition surveys and options to place additional sand to achieve the full project design template. The period of performance is 110 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with no work to be completed between March 1st to August 31st due to environmental restrictions. The estimated magnitude of the project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. • The project is located on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey, extending from the Cape May Inlet southwest jetty to the 3rd Ave terminal groin in Cape May City. • The contract work will consist of a base bid to conduct pre-placement condition surveys and pump/place approximately 364,000 cubic yards of sand. • Options to place additional sand from the same borrow area to achieve the full project design template at these same two beach locations will also be included. • Sand must come from the offshore borrow area, and trucking in sand will not be permitted under this contract.
