The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is seeking information from potential suppliers for the manufacture of the Upper Wide-Angle Viewing System (UWAVS) In-Vessel Subsystem. The UWAVS system will provide real-time, simultaneous visible and infrared images of the ITER divertor region. The scope of work includes the manufacturing, inspection, testing, and delivery of the UWAVS In-Vessel components, as well as the necessary assembly and testing activities to verify compliance with requirements. The supplier will be expected to interact with and support the efforts of the I&C supplier, and provide functional test subject matter expert technical support for the Port integrator’s Port Plug Testing.
• The UWAVS system consists of three sections: In-Vessel, Ex-Vessel, and Gallery and Diagnostic Building.
• The In-Vessel components comprise the Front End Optical Modular System (FEOMS) that resides in the Diagnostic Shield Module (DSM) of upper ports 2, 8, 11, and 14.
• The FEOMS subsystem functions to image a wide-angle view of the divertor surface through a pinhole aperture of the Diagnostic First Wall (DFW), and relay that image through an optical mirror train.
• The supplier will be required to deliver the FEOMS subassemblies, including the A10, A20, and A30 mirror subassemblies.
• The supplier will also be required to provide a Site Acceptance Plan, a Factory Acceptance Test Plan, and a Marking and Labelling Plan.
