VA GPD Per Diem Only NOFO

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is announcing the availability of funding for community-based organizations to provide supportive housing services to facilitate Veteran engagement in permanent housing. The VA's Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program (GPD) will award grants to support two different Per Diem Only (PDO) service models: transitional supportive housing and service centers. Transitional supportive housing provides a supportive environment for Veterans to stabilize and move into permanent housing, while service centers offer on-demand services and information to engage and aid Veterans experiencing homelessness. The grants will be awarded for a period of three years, starting on or around October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2029. The VA anticipates awarding approximately 350 PDO grants for a total of approximately 10,500 transitional supportive housing beds and 15 service centers nationwide. Some key points to consider: * Eligible entities include 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) nonprofit organizations, state or local government agencies, and federally recognized Indian Tribal governments. * Applications must be submitted by February 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. * The VA will evaluate applications based on factors such as the applicant's experience in providing supportive housing services, the quality of the proposed project, and the ability to meet the needs of Veterans experiencing homelessness. * The VA anticipates that the grants will contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the GPD program by providing transitional housing and supportive services to Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
