Demolition of 3 Bacon Street

The Town of Wellesley is seeking bids for the demolition of a 1,300 square-foot, one-story wood-frame ranch-style residence located at 3 Bacon Street. The property contains five rooms, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, a full basement, an enclosed frame porch, a frame garage, and an open porch. The building must be removed in its entirety, excluding the existing foundation and slab-on-grade. The foundation walls and floor slab can remain, but drainage must be provided in the floor slab. After demolition and removal of materials, the site will need to be backfilled with clean gravel and left with a level gravel base adjacent to the surrounding asphalt elevations. • The building is a one-story wood-framed building sitting on a concrete foundation. • The building measures approximately 44 feet x 34 feet. • All utilities, including water, sewer, electricity, and natural gas, will be disconnected and capped by the Town of Wellesley. • The Town will abate any hazardous materials prior to demolition. • Bidders are required to field verify the site during the pre-bid site visit. • The bid opening will take place on September 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
