Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23, intends to enter into single source negotiations and award a firm fixed-price contract to The American National Red Cross for blood and blood products in support of the Nebraska Western-Iowa Health Care System. The contract will be for one year with four option years. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables, including blood products, reference laboratory testing, and apheresis services. The contractor must maintain Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification and comply with FDA regulations.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing blood products and services to the Omaha VA Medical Center
• Maintaining a reliable source of FDA-registered blood products
• Providing reference laboratory testing and apheresis services
• Complying with FDA regulations and maintaining CLIA certification
• Delivering blood products 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
• Meeting all federal and state DOT requirements for the transportation of human blood and blood products
