Description

The University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health) is seeking qualified contractors to design, engineer, fabricate, install, rent, maintain, and later remove a temporary ADA‑compliant access ramp that will connect a building exit to a temporary MRI trailer on campus. The ramp must meet all safety and accessibility standards and be removable after use. The solicitation is issued as an Invitation to Bid (ITB) and is open to all vendors. • Scope includes design, engineering, fabrication, installation, rental, maintenance, and removal of a temporary ramp. • Must comply with ADA requirements for barrier‑free access. • Work will be performed on the UConn Health campus in Farmington, Connecticut. • Contractor must be capable of providing all phases (design through removal) and any required equipment. • No line‑item bid; a single comprehensive bid is required.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $300,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Based on comparable temporary ADA ramp projects for medical facilities (including design, engineering, fabrication, rental of modular components, installation, maintenance, and removal), a reasonable ball‑park range is roughly $100,000 to $300,000. The lower end reflects a simple modular ramp; the higher end accounts for more complex engineering, longer rental periods, and higher material costs. Factors influencing the final amount include ramp length, load capacity, site conditions, and duration of rental/maintenance.
