The Food for Progress Program provides funding to support agricultural development activities in emerging countries. The program aims to increase agricultural productivity and expand trade of agricultural products. Eligible applicants include governments, intergovernmental organizations, private voluntary organizations, and other private entities. The program will support projects with a duration of approximately 5 years, and the total available federal funding is up to $226 million. The program has six specific objectives, including access to private markets, market pricing, establishment of foreign exchange rates, timely availability of production inputs, access to technologies, and construction of facilities and distribution systems.
• The program will support projects that align with the America First priorities, including investing in strategically selected partner countries and promoting private sector engagement.
• The program will also support projects that incorporate a clear exit strategy to ensure sustainable impact after USDA Food for Progress support concludes.
• Eligible applicants must have an active registration in the U.S. Government System for Award Management (SAM) before the application submission deadline.
• The program will consider applications that demonstrate strong, feasible cost share commitments.
