Behavioral Health Services - Crisis and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

The Nevada County Behavioral Health Department is seeking qualified firms to provide Crisis Services and/or Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Services as part of the County’s behavioral health crisis continuum. These services support timely crisis intervention, de-escalation, and short-term stabilization for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. The proposal includes two distinct service categories: Crisis Services and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Services. Proposers may submit a proposal for one or both service categories. Key responsibilities include providing crisis assessment, brief intervention, and safety planning, responding to emergency departments and residential SUD treatment facilities, and participating in co-responder law enforcement crisis teams. • Crisis Services: providing 24/7 crisis intervention services, including community-based mobile crisis services and responses to emergency departments • Crisis Stabilization Unit Services: operating a 4-bed CSU in Grass Valley, CA, providing a calm, therapeutic environment for individuals in psychiatric crisis • Co-responder law enforcement crisis teams: participating in teams embedded with the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office to de-escalate crises and reduce incidents of arrest and incarceration • Quality assurance and reporting: collecting data required by DHCS, soliciting client/caregiver feedback, and submitting monthly summary data updates to the County
