25-98-1620 Demolition and Abatement of Hearthstone Lodge

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide construction services for the demolition and abatement of Hearthstone Lodge. The project includes demolishing existing building structures, properly abating all asbestos-containing materials, demolishing the pool and backfill, compacting with stone and soil, and removing all associated pool equipment. The contractor is recommended to recycle as much as possible, including the aluminum pool enclosure. The project must be completed within 30 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Key tasks and deliverables include: • Demolishing existing building structures to include slabs • Properly abating all asbestos-containing materials as required by EPD • Demolishing the pool and backfill, compacting with stone and soil • Demolishing and removing all associated pool equipment • Demolishing and closing the existing well • Removing all remaining debris in the pool area and anything on the exterior of the facility • Stabilizing soil and site as needed and compacting and strawing • Leaving the parking lot and asphalt intact • Leaving the existing septic system intact
