Life Sciences Building - Roof Replacement

The University of Louisville is seeking a qualified General Contractor to remove and replace the roof of the Life Sciences Building on its Belknap Campus. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, inspections, and supervision required to install a new 2‑ply modified‑bitumen roofing system in accordance with detailed drawings and specifications. The scope includes demolition of the existing roof, deck repair, installation of insulation, waterproofing, flashing, fall‑protection systems, and post‑construction site restoration, as well as compliance with extensive safety, environmental, and tree‑protection requirements. • Remove existing roofing and prepare the substrate for a new SBS‑modified bitumen membrane system (R‑26.5 minimum). • Install insulation, cover boards, flashing, and all ancillary metal work per NRCA, SMACNA, and manufacturer warranty standards. • Provide daily water‑tightness, fall‑protection, site safety, and tree‑protection measures; coordinate pre‑bid and pre‑construction conferences. • Deliver all required bonds, insurance, and compliance documentation; adhere to the University’s physical‑plant, environmental, and labor‑law policies.
