Description
The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife, is seeking bids for the repair and maintenance of existing firebreak/access/maintenance roads on the island of Kauai. The project includes four road sections: Milolii Ridge Road, Mohihi-Camp 10 Road, Lower Mohihi Road, and Wailua Forest Management Road (Loop Road). The contractor will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs, including filling potholes, addressing drainage and runoff issues, and installing new water diversions as needed. The contractor must also provide all necessary equipment and logistics for the project.
Key features of the project include:
* Repair and maintenance of approximately 24,079 meters of unpaved dirt roads
* Installation of new water diversions and repair of existing ones
* Filling of potholes and ruts with 6" aggregate and capping with 3" minus
* Slope road sections and creation of throwaways to get water off the road
* Provision of all necessary equipment and logistics for the project
* Compliance with Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) and provision of required documents, including tax clearance certificates, certificates of compliance, and certificates of good standing.
